Artist Profiles: David Ferrando
David Ferrando His work has also been repeatedly shown at the Met in NYC and is collected the world over. Born in Indiana in 1946, Ferrando has lived in New York since 1979 and spent a decade in Germany having studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and was exclusively contracted to Gallerie Fuer Raumkunst. Mr. Ferrando’s art openings have been documented on 35mm film and distributed throughout Germany – they can also be viewed on YouTube. The opening at the International Art Congress in Stuttgart is included. His opening in Reykjavik was broadcast on Icelandic Public Television. He also writes poetry and short stories, and has performed in various NYC venues at poetry slams and art openings. He has received the BRIO Award (Bronx Recognizes Its Own) for Painting, and was Artist-in-Residence in Ulster County in upstate NY. Recently, David’s work was included in the book “100 New York Painters” available at MOMA, the Met, and other fine-art booksellers.
