American Academy of Arts and Letters

Founded in 1898 to cater to the interest of Washington Heights residents in music, literature and other arts, the academy hosts exhibitions of art and manuscripts as well as readings and performances of new musicals. In addition, it serves as an intermediary for the purchase and donation of paintings to museums across the country.
Association of Hispanic Arts

The AHA is dedicated to the advancement of Latino arts, artists and arts organizations as an integral part of the cultural life of the nation. They facilitate projects and programs designed to foster the appreciation, growth and wellbeing of the Latino cultural community.

The Cloisters

Located on four acres in Fort Tryon Park, overlooking the Hudson River, the building incorporates elements from five medieval French cloisters and from other monastic sites in southern France. The Cloisters is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that boasts a splendid collection of medieval artifacts, paintings and architecture.
Community Arts Showcase (CAS)

Its goal is to reach out to the community at large as well as the youth of the community. Working without a headquarters, CAS lines up venues and organizes public showings of the work of artists in the community.
Cornerstone Chorale
Tel: 212-795-5738. This group strives to bring singers together from Washington Heights, Inwood, other Manhattan neighborhoods and other boroughs. Cornerstone, the only community chorus north of 125th Street in Manhattan, is dedicated to providing quality concert programs within the local community, and is often invited to perform in other locations as well.
Culturarte

Fundación Culturarte de Nueva York is a community-based organization that promotes weekly encounters with artists, poets, writers and professionals. Culturarte organizes periodic conventions, congresses, forums and symposia of the Hispanic cultural reality as well as monthly literary and art festivals, book fairs and art exhibits.
Hispanic Society of America

In addition to permanent collection displays that include paintings by El Greco, Velásquez, Goya and Sorilla, the museum offers many exhibitions and lectures on a variety of topics.
KB Gallery
875 West 181st Street at Riverside Drive, 212.543.2393. An ideal setting for intimate exhibitions, showings and concerts. Recently opened by sculptor Khachik Bozoghlian, it is a beautifully designed space with a stunning view of the George Washington Bridge.
Lyric Opera of New York

Moose Hall Theatre Company

NURTUREart is dedicated to helping promising career-track emerging fine artists and curators to become full-time, self-supporting professionals. Our name is our mission. It maintains a registry of more than 300 portfolios, and organizes juried group and one-person exhibitions of its Registry Artists' work at host sites in the New York City metropolitan area. NURTUREart also assists individual artists and curators with career development advice, and presents artists' talks, slide lectures, workshops, symposia, portfolio reviews and other enjoyable and educational events for artists, curators, and the general public.

Russian American Cultural Heritage Center (RACH-C)

RACH-C strives to preserve the culture, traditions and values immigrants have brought from their Russian-speaking countries of origin, so that these can be enjoyed and respected by their children, and help enrich American culture. The organization encourages writers and artists in their endeavors, and provides advice and technical assistance to Russian American organizations and individuals who are attempting to bring worthwhile projects to life. It also provides workshops, seminars, etc., regarding the history, culture and characteristics of Russsian Americans.
Shakespeare in the Wild

The company's mission is to provide actors with a forum to gain experience in performing the works of the Bard and expose Inwood and other parts of Manhattan to the artistry, magic and sheer fun of Shakespeare.
